Letter #41- Week 43: Nine is Prime

July 15, 2019

Hola Everyone!

Last Tuesday I dropped off Hermana Jeppson to take on the big world by herself and picked up Hermana Patchell! I'm sad to see Hermana Jeppson go, but I am excited for her and all that she is going to do and everyone she is going to help over in Utah. She has been a wonderful example to me in diligence and love. She knows how to take care of people and how to keep moving forward, even when things get tough. I love her so much. I also got to say goodbye to Hermana Jensen and we got to take a cute picture all together.

I was at least lucky enough to recieve an outstanding companion in her place! Hermana Patchell is basically Wonder Woman. She has such a fire for the work along with being diligent and effective. I am going to learn so much from her and I'm excited to improve and grow in the next six weeks with her.

It was a mad crazy week 1 though. Tuesday we had transfers down in Queens, Wednesday we had district council and ward missionary correlation, Thursday we had Leadership Meeting in Queens, Friday Hermana Patchell and Hermana Murphy had an exchange with the Lynbrook Sisters (which is on Long Island), Saturday we had Weekly Planning and a whole lot of appointments, and Sunday was Mirella's baptism.

The Leadership Meeting was very good. There is a companion in each companionship in a leadership position in our district, so it was basically district council 2.0 and that was fun. We talked a lot about helping people progress to baptism and how to use the tools that we've already been given in order to accomplish it, with a focus on using members as helpers in missionary work, more effective finding methods, and using a planning sheet that President Teuscher received inspiration on. We created some good goals as a zone, district, and companionship in order to become better.

Mirella's baptism went surprisingly smoothly. She said that she had an overwhelming feeling when she came up out of the water and she felt great! She has come so far in the past three months and I'm so glad that I was able to see this whole process with her. This Sunday she'll recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost and she'll be a fire member missionary.

I feel so grateful for all the people that Heavenly Father has blessed us to teach here in Stamford. I have been able to witness a bounty of miracles in New England and I know that there are so many more to come. Heavenly Father really does have a plan for each of us and it is so wonderful to see all of the dots line up.

2 Nephi 2:1-3

1 And now, Jacob, I speak unto you: Thou art my firstborn in the days of my tribulation in the wilderness. And behold, in thy childhood thou hast suffered afflictions and much sorrow, because of the rudeness of thy brethren.

2 Nevertheless, Jacob, my firstborn in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.

3 Wherefore, thy soul shall be blessed, and thou shalt dwell safely with thy brother, Nephi; and thy days shall be spent in the service of thy God. Wherefore, I know that thou art redeemed, because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer; for thou hast beheld that in the fulness of time he cometh to bring salvation unto men.

¡Les Amo!
