Letter #4 - Week 5.5- Start Spreading the News, I'm Leaving Monday
October 25, 2018
¡Hola Everybody!
In a few short days, I'll be in New York City preaching the good news. My time at the MTC has been as long as it has been short. At the moment I'm feeling like if I go to New York there will be trouble, but if I stay at the CCM then it'll be double. I'm excited to get into the field though, and I've found myself humming New York songs rather a lot in the past couple of days.
I will be departing from the CCM at 3 am Monday morning, with having to get to reception by 2:30 in the morning. Presidente Bennett promises that if we go to bed on time, then we will have enough energy to make it through the day well.
For the most part, this last week has been an attempt to hustle to the finish line, but some interesting enough things happened over the course of the week to keep things interesting.
Hermana Gonzalez and I were leading the district to the computer labs for language study when we walked in and saw two birds flying around. The rest of the group was just getting in when I was calling for our teacher Hermano Rivera. He was wondering what was going on then understood immediately when he walked in. After some scurry we were able to get both of them out safely.
A couple of days ago I sprained my ankle during gym time, not while playing six square, but while I was on the sideline talking. I ended up deciding that if God wanted my ankle to heal, it would and I just had to do the best I could. That ended up being a good decision, and the next morning I could hardly tell, just some stiffness #missionblessings
When asked for a story for the weekly, Elder Lambert shared with me that whenever his third grade teacher wanted to grade papers quietly, she would put on a raccoon skin hat. He thought that it was weird, even as an 8 year-old.
The morning of p-day was spent packing, cleaning, sand volleyball, and more soccer. Hermana Murphy and I took some cute pictures while watching soccer, and we were able to get all of the missionaries going to New York together for a picture.
Enos 1:4-8
4 And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.
5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away.
7 And I said: Lord, how is it done?
8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
Love,
Hermana Prue
