Letter #28 - Week 30: Area Book 3.0
April 15, 2019
Hola Everyone!
Do you know what Saturday was? Transfer calls. Both of my companions are leaving Stamford! The scariest part of that is that tomorrow I'm going to be driving through the Bronx and Queens in a attempt to make it out alive to Connecticut. All prayers appreciated. Hermana Hopkins will be going to New Rochelle and Hermana Cahill will be going to Yonkers. I will be receiving HERMANA JEPPSON, who is currently HERMANA JENSEN'S companion in Manhattan. I'm really excited to work with her and I'm sure there will be a bounty of adventures to come in the next six weeks. Other fun facts about transfers:
-Hermana Murphy is going to be in my district, so district meeting is going to be explosive (I'll send a cute picture of us again at the CCM if you can't remember her)
-This fact isn't fun, but the New Canaan area was closed, which means that
-We will have an all Spanish district
-There will be 8 missionaries in my district, which is the fewest I've ever had
-The Yorktown district is going to be straight fire this transfer
Sister Pruett and I were matching at district council, so we took the opportunity to take our cute matching Prue Pics. We also finally took a picture of the district, so I'll send that as well.
The Area Book 3.0 came out on Tuesday, and it is beautiful. I never had to use paper area book or anything, but it sounded like an absolute nightmare. Heavenly Father has definitely brought about technolgy for our good and benefit. Two of my favorite features from the new update is now you get to put a note on why a lesson was missed (before if you wanted to you had to put it into the lesson plan) and you get to gauge how well the person you were teaching understood the individual principals that you taught.
The weather has been very nice this past week. I'm starting to get a taste for hot humidity and I'm a little terrified, but it could be an adventure.
We actually got a lot of good missionary work done this week. We found lots of new people to teach, Luna came to church for the first time (!) and seemed to love it, and everyone on bap date came to church. We have four people scheduled to be baptized in the next transfer, and we're praying that all of them go through. It has been so wonderful to watch these people get closer to their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

2 Nephi 2:1-8
1 And now, Jacob, I speak unto you: Thou art my firstborn in the days of my tribulation in the wilderness. And behold, in thy childhood thou hast suffered afflictions and much sorrow, because of the rudeness of thy brethren.
2 Nevertheless, Jacob, my firstborn in the wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God; and he shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
3 Wherefore, thy soul shall be blessed, and thou shalt dwell safely with thy brother, Nephi; and thy days shall be spent in the service of thy God. Wherefore, I know that thou art redeemed, because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer; for thou hast beheld that in the fulness of time he cometh to bring salvation unto men.
4 And thou hast beheld in thy youth his glory; wherefore, thou art blessed even as they unto whom he shall minister in the flesh; for the Spirit is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. And the way is prepared from the fall of man, and salvation is free.
5 And men are instructed sufficiently that they know good from evil. And the law is given unto men. And by the law no flesh is justified; or, by the law men are cut off. Yea, by the temporal law they were cut off; and also, by the spiritual law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable forever.
6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.
¡Os amo!
-Hermana Prue
