Letter #10 - Week 12- "My name is Sister Tua'one. No, no, it's okay- Two-ahh-on-ehh. That's perfect!"

December 10, 2018

Hola Everyone!

This week we will be saying goodbye to my wonderful companion la Hermana Tua'one. She will be returning home to Texas to continue her efforts in building the kingdom of God. I have learned so much from her, and her wisdom and experience has greatly blessed my life and all those who we speak to each day.

Because the new Korean missionaries already came last week, we only have people leaving the district. Elder Bennion will be serving in the Brooklyn YSA ward and Sister Choi will be serving the Manhattan YSA ward. Both of them are exceptional at working with young adults and their work will inspire and change the lives of many.

Going to Manhattan was an eye-opening experience to say the least. The buildings just keep going up and up. There is lots to see and experience in NYC, and every part brings something new. Being here has been an excellent opportunity to learn and love and really see the true diversity of Heavenly Father's children.

Yesterday all the missionaries in our branch (us and the English elders) sang "Away in a Manger" for sacrament meeting. It was an arrangement by Sally DeFord to the same tune as "Be Thou my Vision". It's pretty and was fun to sing. Next week I will be speaking in sacrament meeting. It will be the first time I'll give a talk in Spanish, so we'll see how that goes.

Alma 17:1-3

1 And now it came to pass that as Alma was journeying from the land of Gideon southward, away to the land of Manti, behold, to his astonishment, he met with the sons of Mosiah journeying towards the land of Zarahemla.

2 Now these sons of Mosiah were with Alma at the time the angel first appeared unto him; therefore Alma did rejoice exceedingly to see his brethren; and what added more to his joy, they were still his brethren in the Lord; yea, and they had waxed strong in the knowledge of the truth; for they were men of a sound understanding and they had searched the scriptures diligently, that they might know the word of God.

3 But this is not all; they had given themselves to much prayer, and fasting; therefore they had the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and when they taught, they taught with power and authority of God.

Love,

Hermana Prue
