January 28, 2019 Hola Everyone! This Tuesday I left Hermana Jesen in a parking lot and navigated the relatively short distance home with my two new companions. It's been interesting seeing how they do missionary work and figuring out how we're going to do missionary work together. They have been enjoying all of the Asian people though, so this transfer should remain as exciting as ever. Several weeks ago a Chinese missionary handed me a stack of their Christmas cards because they didn't want to deal with them. I put one on the refrigerator, but after that I just stuck them in my purse with my pass-along cards and kind of forgot about it. A few weeks back I decided I might as well use them and started showing them as an approach for talking to Chinese people, usually just giving them an English class card after. It's been kind of fun to do that, but this week it didn't work as planned. We were riding down an elevator 10 floors with a Chinese lady,...
May 20, 2019 Hola Everyone! This week was a week of miracles! It was our best proselytizing week of the transfer, and we met such a sweet soul. Her name is Mirella, and she is dating a member of the YSA ward. We decided to look her up a couple of weeks back, and she wasn't home. I apparently called her, but I only kind of remember it and obviously forgot about it. We then went to look her up again and she turned out to be one of the coolest people ever! On our first real lesson she looked at a calendar and decided that June 15th was a good day to be baptized. We couldn't agree more! She is so prepared to start living more fully the Gospel of Jesus Christ in her life. It is going to bless her so much, so stay tuned. We saw lots of huge miracles with little José this week. I now have a greater testimony that through the small efforts of many that Heavenly Father works His greatest miracles. As we put our best foot forward in faith, God will make much more of our ef...
January 13, 2020 Hola Everyone! Events of the week: -Zone Conference -Exchanges with Sister Zornes -Ward Conference -Crazy awesome progrese with our people -The finding famine continues South Brooklyn hiked up to a balmy 67° F Sunday, January 12th with a pleasant breeze accompaning our Sunday afternoon walk home from church. Ive never experienced those harsh New England winters they always seem to talk about, but still bracing myself I guess. Ward Conference had some wonderful spiritual insights. To our delight, the stake president did some leadership training about member missionary work coordination and it was lots of fun to be with them while they were learning. Fun thing just happened. Hermana Haws and I were waiting for the bus coming home from shopping when Hermana Haws made eye contact with a lady holding a microphone and she asked to interview us asking us dental questions. It was low key awkward but fun #ifyoucanmakeitinnycyoucanmakeiyanywhere This ...
