Letter #74 - Week 77: Holiness to the Lord, House of the Lord
March 16, 2020
An account of the people of South Brooklyn, namely Hermana Prue, Hermana Haws, the South Brooklyn district, and the people they teach. This is according to the account of Hermana Prue; or in other words, I, Hermana Prue, wrote this record. About March 3-11 2020 AD.
Hola Everyone!
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the temple. It had been a year since we had gone because of the temple closure last year, and we got in just in the nick of time, because the temple closed the next day. It was a memorable trip with President and Sister Tuescher, and we all got to do an endowment session with them and sealings as well. I got to go with Sister James, a Chinese speaking missionary, and that was lots of fun because we were roommates for a couple of weeks at the begining of our missions.
We've been doing a Zone Initiative here in Brooklyn where every companionship talks to 20 people a day on trains, buses, knocking, or in the street, and it's been lots of fun! When I first came to the field, opening your mouth was the bread and butter of this mission. Over the past year or so of trying to focus on more effective finding methods, the straight grind fire of talking to everyone you see has died down a lot, so we're trying to bring the excitement back up again, and it's worked surprisingly well!
We had our last district council of the transfer, and that was pretty tender because both Elder Navarro and I are going home. I'm grateful that I get to end my mission in such a good ward with such a good district. South Brooklyn is a wonderful place to be a missionary.
President Mortensen training part two about working with members in missionary work happened as well. It's makes me happy to know that our mission is progressing so much and learning lots of new things, but it's a little sad that I won't be able to apply those skills moving forward. But principles are forever, haha.
John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
¡Os Amo!
-Hermana Prue
