Letter #54 - Week 56: One Year Older And Wiser Too
October 14, 2019
Fitting in appoints in the morning before our meetings was our specialty this week. We decided that we could squeeze in a short appoint in before Zone Conference Friday (and one before district council Saturday), and we still got in plenty of time for breakfast! Zone Conference was full of exciting surprises. Expanded communication policy, WiFi, and clothing reminders as the weather gets colder. All of the people I reported to the MTC with were at Zone Conference, so we took a celebratory photo. Hermana Gonzalez noted in her weekly email that we had taken a picture exactly a year before at the Mexico Temple Visitor's Center. So, I stole the picture and it is attached below. I think my favorite part is that we ended up in the same order. At zone conference we discussed the Law of Chastity and some more about righteous technology and social media habits. We also talked about helping people get to church and online proselyting.
Hermana Connolly and I had the opportunity to help a member in the ward move, and we ended up assembling an exercise bike and connecting the television and phone again, which all ended up being an incredible adventure. As we continuously traveled up and down the elevator, we found a Colombian man that we had met a few days earlier, and the member and him became friends right away. We hope to go visit him soon with the member and see where that goes!
Hermana Connolly is teaching me how to have more fun, so we've been baking, getting ice cream, singing efy karaoke and taking selfies in our free time.
We have had some wonderful lessons and met lots of good people who are wanting to learn more about Jesus Christ and grow a closer relationship with him. I think one thing that the one thing that I've been appreciating more and trying to emphasize more as I teach is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ works and matters because it is a daily thing. A daily work, but a daily blessing.
Luke 18:9-14
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
¡Os Amo!
-Hermana Prue
