Letter #26 - Week 28: I Walked Straight Into a Pole and I Wasn't Even Doing Anything
April 1, 2019
Hola Everyone!
This week had plenty of adventures and dramatic Hispanics, but that's the fun of it all. Here's a rundown of the week:
-Ludin (one of our people on baptismal date) is pretending like he's not progressing, but he totally is and has been a lot happier lately. We dropped in as a surprise on Saturday the day after our scheduled appointment and taught him about fasting because this week was fast Sunday and we forgot. He asked for a Come, follow me booklet and goes to a study group in the ward 😮
-Luna and Chen (our YSA baptismal date people) went to Niagara Falls this weekend and DIDN'T COME TO CHURCH 😠They are so sweet though and they are making leaps and bounds in their proximity to Christ.
-We started teaching this little boy named José this weekend and put him on baptismal date for June 8th 😊 He is nine and his mom is a member. They recently moved from their country and he knows and does so much already! We're excited to work with him more
-We had a dropping fest this weekend. It turned out to be fairly productive and we're hoping to re-energize the pool of people that we're teaching. Week 5 is traditionally the weakest week of the transfer in our mission, so we're hoping to not do that as a companionship.
-In our attempts to do missionary work for young, single adults, we put together lots of plastic Easter eggs and handed them out near a college campus with information about general conference. The sad part is that we found out that our building won't be transmitting conference 😔 But, we got some good practice talking to jóvenes.
Nuggets of Wisdom:
-Everyone has to follow the law of chastity
-Always be aware of your surroundings
-If you're going to lie to the missionaries put some effort into it
-Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ actually works, and it's worth it
-Heavenly Father answers prayers through general conference, so go to it
1 Nephi 1:18-20
18 Therefore, I would that ye should know, that after the Lord had shown so many marvelous things unto my father, Lehi, yea, concerning the destruction of Jerusalem, behold he went forth among the people, and began to prophesy and to declare unto them concerning the things which he had both seen and heard.
19 And it came to pass that the Jews did mock him because of the things which he testified of them; for he truly testified of their wickedness and their abominations; and he testified that the things which he saw and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, manifested plainly of the coming of a Messiah, and also the redemption of the world.
20 And when the Jews heard these things they were angry with him; yea, even as with the prophets of old, whom they had cast out, and stoned, and slain; and they also sought his life, that they might take it away. But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance.
¡Os Amo!
-Hermana Prue
